Drivers Ed is a semester-long class that earns 1/2 credit - Topics covered include; but are not limited to, signs, pavement markings, traffic laws, urban and rural driving, interstate driving, insurance, making turns, how emotions and physical limitations affect your driving, managing distractions, and how alcohol and other drugs affect your ability to drive.

PART ONE The test for the learners permit is given in class and it is a two-part test. • Road signs (15) • Knowledge of traffic laws (50) We require all the signs to be correct and a student must score 40 out of 50 to pass the law portion. Permit applications may be given when the test is passed, the $280 fee is paid, and the student has at least a "C" average in the class.
PART TWO The oldest students will be scheduled to drive first and they may schedule to drive during study hall, Lunch & Learn, or after school and they must total 6 hours of driving and 6 hours of observing to fulfill the required time. In order to take a road test they must have driven on a permit for at least 6 months in addition to completing the class and the mandated driving hours. Office hours: 6:50am - 7:35am/Course 2/Lunch
