Who is eligible? Juniors and Seniors have the opportunity to exempt up to two (2) exams during the first semester, while Sophomores may qualify for one (1) exam. Freshmen students are not eligible.

What are the grade requirements? A student must maintain a minimum of an A- grade average the semester preceding the exemption in the class they choose to exempt. The A grades apply to AP courses as well.

What are the attendance requirements? A student can accumulate no more than five (5) family-requested absences from the exempted class period. This rule includes pre-excused absences. Any unexcused absences in the two quarters preceding the exemption will prevent a student from exempting any exams..

What are the behavioral requirements? A student may not accumulate any written office referrals resulting in an office issued consequence (detentions, suspensions, etc) in the two quarters preceding the exemption.

Is parent permission required? No. Parents of all students will be notified via school messenger regarding the exam schedule and exemption requirements. Parents not wishing to have their student utilize the exam exemption process will be required to notify the main office by January 11, 2023. If you have any questions about this process, please contact the WUHS main office at (262)534-3189.
